Of course we were participated! Girls‘ Day 2025 @ DocuMatrix
Once a year, STEM companies throughout Lower Austria open their doors to get girls excited about technology – and on April 24, it was that time again. Of course we were there too!
On Girls Day 2025, we welcomed eight schoolgirls from the 7th grade at Sieghartskirchen secondary school. To start with, our visitors were given a short tour of the company and an insight into our company – who we are, what we do and what IT looks like in everyday life. Then we continued with a journey through time: Women in the history of technology.
It was exciting to see how many female pioneers there were many years ago, what they contributed to technical progress and how they still shape the tech industry today.
First insights into creative work
The creative design of our own business cards, together with our Information & Brand Manager Barbara Reisner, was particularly well received. This was a great opportunity to see themselves as part of the working world and to bring a piece of their own identity into the workshop.
Coding was also fun
Afterwards, the girls were able to try their hand at a programming game and show how much logical thinking, team spirit and curiosity they bring to the table. At the end, everyone received a certificate of participation – created from our software solution dmDoc, as a memento of a varied day with us.
The feedback from the students was consistently positive – and we are particularly pleased that almost all of them could imagine pursuing a career in an IT company later on.
Summary:
For us, Girls’ Day is not just an obligation in the calendar, but a real matter of the heart – because girls naturally belong in technology. And from a business perspective, it has long been necessary to address new target groups. Particularly in view of demographic change and the shortage of skilled workers, it is crucial to show what is possible at an early age.
After all, if we give young people, and girls in particular, prospects early on, everyone wins in the end – the talents of tomorrow and the companies of today.
