Our History
DocuMatrix is an Austrian software company founded in 1999 that has successfully established itself in the areas of business process management, complex data management and business communication management. With locations in Austria and Switzerland and an innovative product portfolio for output management, document creation, ESL and more, DocuMatrix has developed over the years into a renowned brand in the industry and throughout the DACH region. DocuMatrix has since merged with Formware to form the OMS Group and is now increasingly focusing on the pan-European market.
1999
The DocuMatrix Group was founded with Josef Gruber as shareholder and Andrea Gruber as founding-member
2003
The uncomplicated, high-performance document enterprise output process manager docPIPE was released
2006
Gerhard Gruber enters the owner-managed company
2007
Markus Gruber enters the owner-run company
2008
The DocuMatrix GmbH opens the office in Abstetten
2009
dmDOC, the dynamic and intelligent document creator was released.
2011
The high-performing document formatter docTYPE was released
2013
The DocuMatrix GmbH opens the headquarter in Einsiedel
2014
Gerhard & Markus Gruber become managing shareholders of the DocuMatrix GmbH
2017 – 2021
The product suite of the DocuMatrix GmbH was reissued
2019
The DocuMatrix GmbH opens the office in Vienna
2020
The subsidiary, DocuMatrix Schweiz AG, was founded and the office in St. Gallen was opened
2021
The DocuMatrix group works intensively with machine learning and cloud solutions in their products

Maik Schawalder was assigned as managing director of the DocuMatrix Schweiz AG
September 2021
The brothers Gerhard and Markus Gruber acquire the leadership of the DocuMatrix group

The DocuMatrix Group was certified according to ISO norm ISO 9001 quality management

docPIPE was awarded the SAP S/4HANA SAP certificate by SAP SE
