More diversity due to the Girls’ Day

Every year, Austrian STEM companies open their doors to female secondary school students to show them a world of opportunities in the technology industry. DocuMatrix also had the pleasure of welcoming five girls from Marc Aurel Middle School in Tulln.

The Girls’ Day is an important day in our calendar where we encourage girls to discover their talents in technology careers. As HR Manager at DocuMatrix, it was close to my heart to create a workshop that would not only welcome the girls, but also inspire them to realize their dreams in the IT industry.

Our day began with a warm welcome and an informative tour of our headquarters in Einsiedl. The girls were full of curiosity and energy as they explored the different departments and projects and got to know the team. A hearty breakfast was followed by interactive tasks aimed at sparking their enthusiasm for technology. From quiz games and women’s technical achievements, to coding exercises in the CSS programming language and creative layout workshops, the day was packed full of exciting activities.

It was particularly nice for me to see how the girls actively got involved and supported each other. Our mentors and role models played a crucial role in this by sharing their own stories and experiences. Their commitment and passion was infectious and showed the girls that there is room for diversity and personal development in the tech industry.
Throughout the day, the participants’ interest grew by the minute as they discovered the skills they already possess and how diverse the career opportunities and benefits in the tech industry are. It was incredibly rewarding to see them even use our dmDOC software to design their own certificates of participation. At the end of the day, the girls were full of enthusiasm and inspiration for their future and can now even imagine themselves starting a career in an IT company.

For me personally and for DocuMatrix as a company, the Girls’ Day is more than just an event – it’s a promise for a more inclusive future. By participating in Girls’ Day, we at DocuMatrix want to help break down stereotypes and inspire a new generation of female experts in STEM professions. It is important to us to encourage girls to pursue their dreams and realize their full potential, because we firmly believe that they will help shape the future of technology.
