A union of passionate visions: DocuMatrix and Formware join forces

What began as meetings at trade fairs and calls for tenders is now creating a strategic partnership with vision: Over the years, DocuMatrix and Formware have realised that there is enormous potential in working together. Initial discussions regarding a sales partnership began in August 2023, and it quickly became clear that the synergies would extend far beyond sales.

DocuMatrix, founded in 1999, is an established software company with locations in Austria and Switzerland. The company specialises in business process management, complex data management and customer communication management. With an innovative product portfolio ranging from dynamic document creation and output management to electronic shelf labels, DocuMatrix automates communication processes at the highest level. Around 45 employees, mainly in research and development, are the driving force behind advancing the solutions.

Formware has an even longer company history: founded in the Upper Bavarian region in 1988, it is a leading provider of automated output management and digital archiving. With over 3,000 customers and more than 35,000 users, the company sets the standards when it comes to security and quality standards as well as scalability. Formware has over 70 employees and impresses with its flexibility, agility and an innovation-friendly corporate culture.

The union of these two specialist companies is more than just an economic decision – it is a strategic alliance that will have a lasting impact on the digital communication solutions market and, above all, set new standards in efficiency, quality and innovation for customers and users.

The Formware and DocuMatrix companies will continue to exist and have been united under the OMS Group. The executive level of the Group consists of: Markus Gruber & Steffen Böhringer (Co-CEO), Thorsten Schatz – CFO

The executive functions in the combined companies will remain the same and moreover, where the greatest expertise already exists, the potential will be expanded to retain and establish strong teams across different locations. By promoting the internal transfer of knowledge, expertise and processes will be passed on to optimise collaboration across borders.

A complex value chain

The two companies’ existing product portfolios will be merged, facilitating seamless coverage of the value chain in customer communication and ensuring added value for customers in the future. The launch of the new joint product suite and brand image is planned for the end of March at the CIO Summit in Vienna.
